"I am no longer in this world, but my sculptures will continue to spread my thoughts and my love...

My flesh is gone. My soul is still here."  Keyee Lam 林可頤

We miss Keyee....

She has accomplished a lot, more than many famous sculptors.    (A young artist in Hong Kong)

She is my best student. (A renowned figurative artist)

She is the only one I know so far, who can manage both traditional clay molding for figurative and understand 3D design so well.  It is amazing that she could do 3D on a computer with the exact detailed figurative in mind already.  (An art critic)

Journalist, fashion designer, film producer, explorer, translator ... how can it be possible for a lady like her to experience so many, and all in professional ways?  Now from her sculptures, I know the answer.  She is everything.  (A collector)

I won't say her sculpture is expensive or not.  Look at "Stand by You", it is Keyee using her life to do it, life is priceless."  (A collector)

She is a poet. She is a magician (An art consultant)

She chose to depart from hustle and bustle, to take off and to radiate as a recluse.  (Her best friend)

She had a talent for art since young.  She did portrait sketches for classmates in exchange for other gifts.  (Keyee's sister)

Words from Keyee's curator

Words from Keyee's family, friends and collectors

Keyee had unusual life journeys.

She used to engage herself in film production, fashion, writing, and environmental conservation work.  After her adventure as a translator on the plateau of Tibet with a renowned explorer of National Geography, she was inspired to go back to “square one”, her first love: ART!  She was a journalist and fashion designer (top student in Parson School of Designs, grand award in graduation show) by training but an artist at heart.

All her experiences are woven into her creation and the passions are like the treasure in her art life: family, love, beauty, sorrow, hope, desire, endurance, Buddhism, Tai-chi … all of a sudden all exploded and became her sculptures.  Her creations carry beautiful messages, thoughtful philosophy and charming forms, such as the series of “She is waiting” depicting the strength and desire of a lady, “Skin Series” delineating the value of life in an empty body, “Taichi” demonstrating co-existence of softness and hardness as the fundamentals of Taichi and wisdom of life.  In 2011, She was commissioned to design the bull sculpture for the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong as souvenirs for the newly listed companies from 2011-2021.

In her last few years of the short-spanned life journey, she created “Crevice of Time”, voicing out that life is full of ups and downs, where a small crevice makes life perfect.  “Sign of Life” was her last whisper of hope to live longer in order to take care of her family, while “Stand by You” was created after accepting the day of leaving her family on earth would come soon, she made a tribute to her husband whose profile of life had intertwined with her for years.

Keyee passed in 2015.  As stated in her will, her life of sculptures continues on the earth, even though she had to travel to another world.   This year is the 7th year after her passing.  She believed in Buddhism, believed that 7 could be a cycle. She had spent 7 years self-learn making sculptures, then she had 7 shining years in the sculpture world ... then she vanished in this world.  Now it is time that her love and thoughts are back.
